Manali ! A Dream Destination For Friends

For the first time we decided to go for a big trip. After lot of a discussion on places to visit,we finally decided to visit Himachal Pradesh.A month before we managed to complete all bookings regarding this trip. We booked through “globe india trip”. Till the day arrived we couldn’t hide our excitement. Shopping planning , researching about places, all things just increasing our adrenaline rush. Finally the day arrived, our flight was at 7am. So we reached the airport two and a half hour before as our excitement level was so high that we couldn’t sleep the whole night, that much excited we were on that night.
It was first flight experience for all of us. So little bit excited for that experience too. So flight took off and landed,it was a one and a half hour flight to Delhi.
Our driver came to pick us at airport itself. And we started our drive to Manali at 11 am in the morning.Delhi to Manali is a 537kms journey which roughly takes 13 to 14 hours .But things don’t always go in our way,we had some issues with our car, then our driver was sleepy in between so we asked him to take a rest.So We reached manali by 4.30am in the next morning. We checked in the hotel nd just slept like pandas. We woke up and saw this view from our balcony
It was mesmerizing to see the mountains with snow caps. We never seen this before. We were looking at the view for half an hour for just making us realise that this is real. We were so engrossed that we didn’t move till our hotel staff asked us to have a breakfast.Talking about breakfast,in himachal pradesh you will have chhole bhature in the breakfast all days if you want. It’s very common over here. Besides tasty breakfast, having breakfast by this view was a treat. So on the first day our itinerary was Hadimba temple, Solang valley and the very famous mall road in the evening. Hadimba temple has very old history behind it. If you know Mahabharata then you should know it. Hadimba was the wife of Bhima(one of the pandavas). This temple constructed by wood only, very beautifully crafted and the area around it gives you very positive vibes. It’s one of the most famous tourist attractions in Manali. Nearby this temple ,you will find घटोत्कच वृक्ष (holy tree) which stands tall for Bhima’s son घटोत्कच. You will find snow rabbits , yaks here around on which you can click a photo, ofcourse for the cost.

After Hadimba temple,we headed towards Solang valley, It is 12kms from where we were. Solang valley is famous for its snow games nd adventures. We went there and snow fall started. Experiencing the snow fall was a once in a lifetime experience. We did ski , Firefox and many snow sports. Before entering Solang valley, you must get snow suit and gum boots. You can get it on rent. You will find many shops that will give you suits on reasonable cost.Do bargain,as this is a tourist destination all things are overpriced. So this is how our day one went.In the evening,we visited mall road. Mall road is a main Street in Manali. Its actually a market where you can shop so many things, local shawls, sweaters, have local food.No vehicles allowed on this road so its very good to walk with no honking and unnecessary noise. We did buy some clothes from mall road. You must be a good at bargaining to avoid purchasing a overpriced product. So this concludes our day one in Manali.

Shrivardhan to Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar

After spending quite time in the Shrivardhan, our next destination was Panchgani. We got early in the morning, had a tea, loaded luggage on bikes and we’re ready to go. We were riding on beachside roads and we couldn’t resist to ride our bikes into the beach and do some beach riding.

Shrivardhan to Panchgani is 140kms journey which covers beautiful roads and engrossing ghat section. When we started our ride it was raining a bit.Riding through small roads surrounded by trees overwhelmed us in a whole different way.

We decided to ride all the way to Panchgani without having any breaks, but we cant resist to click some pictures in the ghat.

We booked chalet tent in Sherbaug luxury tents resort. We reached Panchgani at 12.00pm.About the resort,it is located in Panchgani and it consists of villas, Chalet tents, tree houses, and deluxe rooms. It has its own water park, ghost house,a small cactus musium We chose Chalet tents. Oh god, what a choice that was! Trees all around, walkway surrounded by bushes, private place for bonfire, barbeque place, all that we could imagine,it was there. We just threw our bags and got into the water park. We spend almost 2-3 hours in the waterpark and then in the evening we decided to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

We ordered a tea bucket and sat outside and absorbed the beauty and the freshness. So,in evening we roamed around the property ,visited Haunted house, cactus musium and many more attractions within the property.

We all have excuses for not traveling but you must travel to know who you are, where you stands and the realisation of what e actually missing within. The amount of satisfaction we get by just watching mountains, trees, weather, rivers which we don’t really see by daily basis can’t explain in words. You can get your physical illness get well by man made medicines ,but for psychological illness, nature is the doctor and mountains, rivers, trees, weather are the medicines. So,do travel atleast once in 6 months if not once in a month, but travel.

Moving on, Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani are the places you must go and visit. There were so many spots from where you can see beautiful mountain range. Veena lake is where you can have a boat ride and many ground rides are available nearby Veena lake.Mapro garden is the must visit place if you visit Mahabaleshwar. It is the hub for Mapro products. They even have food Court. You must try Strawberry cream with Ice cream, its very tasty.I found food court a bit costly but can be tried once. You can taste Mapro juices for free in Mapro selling area and then buy what you like.

We had a nice dinner together with a bonfire and music along with it.

On next day we visited Mapro Garden, spend some time there and got ready for our final destination Pune. We went to resort, packed our bags and got ready for the final day of your first ride…It was a bit sad but yes excited to get over ghats and hit the highway. We decided to have lunch in Mahabaleshwar. It was raining heavily on that day,we decided to stop over a hotel and have lunch.

Very nice and warming experience happened that day. As we parked our bikes, hotel owner came and greeted us very nicely and he arranged a seperate sitting for us and gave us a extra table for our luggage.

One of our friend got his shoe sol out,as we were discussing about it he came and said,”Sir aap tensn mat lo mai kuch arrange kar deta hu” and he literally sent his worker our and bought fevistick to fix shoe sol. It was nice to feel that kind of humanity.

Being a rider,I can tell you i got very positive response from the people where ever i visit.People respect rider and try to help them in every possible way. That are the experiences which makes us realise that the humanity still exists.

This is the end of our first konkan ride.

Murud to Shrivardhan

The second day, we headed up for our next destination which was Shrivardhan, this place is situated on the coastal route of konkan.

We started our journey early in the morning with little drizzling. We returned the biryani utensils and then continued our ride towards Shrivardhan.

Konkan road are narrow but clean and smooth. We hardly spotted potholes. We stopped somewhere inbetween to have a breakfast. I don’t remember the exact name of the place where we stopped, but breakfast was delicious.

For reaching Shrivardhan you have two choices, either you can follow the road or else you can put your bikes/cars into the ferry from a place called Agardangaa Jetty. So we chose the second option. We went to the place and bought tickets for ferry and loaded our bikes into the ferry. Oh god, what a beautiful experience that was! You can see the mighty Janjira fort from the sea. It was an awesome experience, surely recommanded.

This ferry will drop you to a village called Dighi. From thereon Shrivardhan is 30kms. We booked our rooms in beach resort which was situated just 100 metres from the beach. You can literally see the beach from your room.

We checked in and explored the property which was very well kept. It was clean, and ample amount of space to maneuver around. Resort has Treehouses as well where you can relax a bit, watch the sun dipping into the sea.The property owner was very kind, they saw our bike’s number plates and asked us from where we came from and was it difficult to ride by bikes for such a long distance. He was quite curious and very generous as well. He simply told his staff to clean up the treehouse for us at no extra cost. And that is the beauty of a ride, you meet such an awesome people, get to know the culture closely.

In the evening we thought lets walk on the beach and witness the sunset. So we went on a beach and saw the sun dipping into the ocean slowly.

There is a sunrise and a sunset

Every single day and it is absolutely free

Don’t miss so many of them

Talking about the beach, it was clean and not crowded at all, Peace all-round. If you like to Visit quite beaches surely this is the place for you. There are watersports in peak season but quite in off season. Shrivardhan is a small place but quite and peaceful. So if you want to relax in peace, watching the ocean having a cup of tea in peace, this is the place! This sums up our day two.

Our First Ride : Nashik To Murud

Yes,it was our first ride. After days of discussion,we finally decided to ride to Konkan.

4th June 2017,First day,we started our ride from nashik.let me tell you Nashik-Mumbai highway is by far the best highway route I’ve been through.

Fogg all over the places, waterfalls from the beautiful mountains washes away all your negative thoughts from your mind and believe me it really does the job well.

Kasara is famous for waterfalls running just besides roads and nearby attractions like Ashoka waterfall,Bhandardara and many more. Its a must visit place during monsoon.

After 5 hours of ride,we finally reach our destination Murud. We stayed there at our friend’s farmhouse.Check out some footage of our beautiful stay.

The unbeaten fort Janjira situated nearby Murud is the place to visit when you come to Murud. If you are coming to Murud for beach experience, then surely this is not the place for you.I didn’t find the beach clean, oil was spilled all over and it turned the sand black.Another example how humans can destroy nature. So Janjira fort is the spot u must visit if you come to Murud. It is situated in sea just about 7-8kms from Murud. You can watch sunset from sunset point along with beautiful Janjira fort.Believe me it’s just mesmerizing to see that view.

For food, there is famous hotel named Patil’s khanaval which was also featured in Highway on my plate show. You can get delicious sea food along with Solkadhi. You can also order biryani from local caterers, which we did.For taste i will give 7/10.

A bonfire,Biryani, chit chat and friends sums up our night in Murud.

This was our first experience in Murud.

Stay tuned.
